If you’re looking to travel in Europe, Ireland could be the perfect location, with inexpensive flights from the US, the English-speaking population, and bounds of interesting sights to take in. A few years ago I had the chance to take the trip of a lifetime when I made my way to the Emerald Isle for a luxurious vacation, on a budget. Check out the details of my 7 day itinerary including all of the sites, where to stay, and great restaurants (even if Ireland isn’t well know for having good food).
Day 1: Dublin
Where to stay: Hotel InterContinental Dublin. We were able to stay in this magnificent hotel for a discounted price since we went in the off-season.
Have a traditional Irish breakfast at Bewley’s,
Sights & Activities: Dublin Castle, horse riding lessons,
Dinner: Exchequer Pub
Drinks: Check out Temple Bar and you might just end up singing in the streets with the locals.
Day 2: Dublin to Galway
Driving through the Irish country side to arrive in Galway.
Where to stay: Genlo Abbey
Sights & Activities: Spend sometime walking around Eyre Square
Dinner: Enjoy a great beer and burger at a local pub
More sights: Take a tour of the abbey
Day 3: Connemara
Breakfast in the hotel
Driving to Connemara, not far outside of Galway.
Sights & Activities: Snap pics of sheep and beautiful rainy country side
Lunch: Fagan’s at Hotel Meyrick,
More sights: Explore the main square of Galway
Dinner: Ard Bia at Nimmo’s
Drinks: Monroe’s and Bierhaus
Day 4: Galway

Driving from Galway to Adare
Sights & Activities: Dunguaire Castle, get blow around by the wind and rain at The Cliffs of Moher
Hotel: Adare Manor
Dinner: The Carriage House in the Manor, Drinks at the Piano Bar in the Manor (the place I’d love to get married in!)
Day 5: Adare
Sights & Activities: Swimming in the Manor
Breakfast in the Manor
Lunch: Unicorn Bar and Grille in Limerick
More sights: Tour of the Manor, Shopping at the Old Adare Creamery, and drinking a Hot Toddy at Aunty Lena’s,
